Since 1995, the supply of hospital beds in the country has grown by an average of 1% each year. In 2023, South Korea held the fifth position globally for the number of hospital beds. The United States surpassed South Korea with the same number of hospital beds, approximately 674,000. The countries ahead in the ranking are Japan, Russia, and the United States, occupying the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively.
