Around 6.7 million people in the United States spend an average of four-and-a-half hours a day on their smartphones, according to a new study from the University of California. The research found that people in the 18 to 44 age group are the biggest users, with the highest average time spent looking at their devices. Overall, the survey concluded that the average person spends more than one-third of their waking hours on their phone.
