In 2021, Egypt overtook Cyprus to become the 75th largest importer of fertilizer, with 28,620 metric tons. Brazil, Spain, and Thailand were respectively numbers 2, 3, and 4 in the ranking. In 2019, Cypriot fertilizer exports fell to 2,360 metric tons, a 60.7% drop compared to 2018. Since 2007, overall supply has decreased 34.6% year-on-year. Cyprus was ranked 95th in 2019, with Lebanon overtaking it at 2,360 metric tons. Norway, Belgium, and Finland were ranked 2nd, 3rd, and 4th respectively.
