Portugal is set to see an average annual increase in deaths from influenza of 4% over the next five years, according to figures released today. The death rate is predicted to reach 284 by 2026, up from 221 in 2021. Since 1965, demand for Portuguese influenza deaths has seen an average annual increase of 12.4%. In 2021, Portugal came in at number 20 in the rankings, overtaken by Austria with 221 deaths. Japan, Germany and Canada took the top three spots, respectively.
