The trend is part of a long-term decrease in demand, which has been shrinking by nearly 19% annually since 1994. On the export front, Bangladesh's bread industry is showing promising growth. Projections indicate that bread exports will rise to nearly $60 million by 2028, up from about $50 million in 2023. This represents a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 2.9%. Since 1998, the country's bread supply for export has been increasing at an annual rate of 5.1%.
