By 2026, Spain is expected to be the 34th biggest producer of cattle, with an estimated 6.2 million heads. This represents a 0.5% increase on the 2021 figure of 6 million. This gradual growth is nothing new: since 1966, the country's cattle production has risen annually by an average of 1.3%. In the global rankings, Spain is outdone by Mali, India, the United States and China, which take the top four spots respectively.
