This figure is the same as that of 2021 and has remained fairly stable since 2017. Currently Kenya is ranked 47th in the world in terms of butter consumption, behind Slovakia at 16,000 metric tons and Germany, France and Russia at 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. Meanwhile, the production of butter in Kenya is set to increase slightly at an average annual rate of 1.6% between 2021 and 2026, rising from 16,670 metric tons to 18,350 metric tons over the same period. Since 1966, production has increased by 0.1% each year. In 2021, Kenya ranked 37th in the world for butter production, trailing Uruguay, New Zealand, Germany and France at 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
