Sweden's butter consumption is forecast to remain unchanged at 68,000 metric tons by 2026. In 2021, Sweden was the 16th largest butter consumer, with Japan topping the list. Germany, France and Russia were the next three countries. Meanwhile, butter production in Sweden is expected to increase slightly, from 63,940 metric tons in 2021 to nearly 70,000 metric tons by 2026. Since 1966, Swedish butter production has grown by 0.4% year-on-year. In 2021, Finland was the largest producer of butter, followed by New Zealand, Germany and France.
