Burmese butter consumption is expected to reach 55,000 metric tons by 2026, up from 52,000 metric tons in 2021, according to a new report. This would represent an average yearly growth rate of 0.8%. Since 2017, Burmese demand has grown at a rate of 1.3% each year. In 2021, Morocco was the largest consumer of butter with 52,000 metric tons consumed. Germany, France, and Russia followed as the second, third, and fourth largest consumers, respectively. Meanwhile, Burmese butter production is expected to reach 66,000 metric tons by 2026, up from 57,000 metric tons in 2021. This would represent an average compound annual growth rate of 2.5%. Since 1966, Burmese supply has grown at a rate of 3.2% each year. In 2021, Japan was the largest producer of butter with 57,000 metric tons produced. New Zealand, Germany, and France followed as the second, third, and fourth largest producers, respectively.
