In 2021, imports totaled $1.4 billion, up 1.4% year on year, while exports amounted to $839.7 million, a 1.3% year on year increase. Since 1994, imports have grown 3.7% year on year, and exports have grown 3.9% year on year. In 2021, Malaysia was the 16th largest importer of transformers and the 25th largest exporter. Poland was the top importer, while the Czech Republic was the top exporter. China, Germany, Mexico, the United States and Japan made up the top five importers and exporters respectively.
