Beninese alcoholic drink industry is expected to fall by 7% between 2021 and 2026. In 2021, exports of the country were valued at around $389 million. This figure is expected to drop to $256 million by 2026. Over the past 18 years, Beninese supply has decreased by 12.9% year on year. Imports of alcoholic drinks to Benin are also expected to decline, albeit at a slower rate. In 2021, imports were worth about $14.4 million and are expected to drop to $13.9 million by 2026. Year on year, demand has risen by 2.3% since 2003. In 2021, Benin was the 130th biggest importer of alcoholic drinks in the world, overtaken by Greenland which imported $14.4 million. The United Kingdom, Germany and China were the second, third and fourth biggest importers respectively.
