Since 2017, demand for the commodity has declined by 2.4% year-on-year. In 2021, the country ranked 18th in terms of consumption, with Nigeria coming in ahead at 13 thousand metric tons. China, Brazil, and Uzbekistan were the second, third, and fourth largest consumers respectively.
