Rwanda is set to become one of the top consumers of palm oil by 2026. Demand for the product is expected to jump 3.2% year on year - from 68,000 metric tons in 2021 to 83,000 metric tons in 2026. Since 2017, consumption has grown by an average of 2.6% year on year. Currently, Rwanda ranks 37th in the world for palm oil consumption. Burkina Faso is ahead with 68,000 metric tons, while India, Indonesia, and Nigeria take the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively.
