In 2021, the country ranked 41st, behind Madagascar's 4,070 metric tons. Malaysia, Thailand, and Colombia were the top three producers. Paraguayan palm oil consumption was close to 4,000 metric tons in 2018, compared to 4,000 metric tons in 2017. The country ranked 77th, behind Bosnia and Herzegovina's 4,000 metric tons. India, Indonesia, and Nigeria were the top three consumers.
