Surinamese palm oil production is set to decrease by 9.9% a year over the next five years, from 155 metric tons in 2021 to 85 metric tons by 2026. Since 1979, the country's production has declined by an average of 6.8% a year. In 2021, Suriname was ranked 45th in global production, with the Central African Republic ahead at 155 metric tons. Malaysia, Thailand and Colombia were the second, third and fourth largest producers, respectively.
