In 2021, the country consumed 25 thousand metric tons of palm oil, making it the 56th largest consumer in the world. Madagascar surpassed Tunisia, consuming 25 thousand metric tons. India, Indonesia and Nigeria came in second, third and fourth respectively. Since 2017, Tunisia's demand for palm oil has decreased at a rate of 1.3% annually. This trend is expected to continue, with an estimated 23.6 thousand metric tons of palm oil consumed in 2026.
