Ghanaian palm oil consumption is projected to reach nearly 64 thousand metric tons by 2026, growing 0.3% year on year. Since 2017, demand has increased 1.1% annually. In 2021, Ghana was the 38th largest consumer of palm oil, behind Rwanda. India, Indonesia and Nigeria ranked second, third and fourth, respectively. Meanwhile, Ghanaian palm oil production is set to reach 432 thousand metric tons by 2026, increasing 3.3% year on year. Since 1966, production has increased 4% annually. In 2021, Ghana was the 12th largest producer of palm oil, behind Ivory Coast. Malaysia, Thailand and Colombia ranked second, third and fourth, respectively.
