Demand has remained steady since 2017, when Madagascar was the 17th largest consumer of coconut oil. The country was surpassed in 2021 by Jamaica, which consumed 9 thousand metric tons. China, the Philippines and Vietnam were the world's second, third and fourth largest consumers, respectively.
