Kazakhstan is set to see a steady increase in the consumption of meat over the next five years. In 2021, the country recorded 1,200 thousand metric tons of meat consumption, a 0.4% increase from the year before. This placed Kazakhstan 35th in the global rankings, just behind Morocco with 1,200 thousand metric tons. The United States, Brazil and Russia ranked second, third and fourth respectively. Kazakhstan's meat production is also projected to grow, with 1,244,400 metric tons expected by 2026. This is a year-on-year growth of 1.5%, with an increase of 3.7% since 1997. In 2021, the country placed 42nd in the rankings, behind Ireland with 1,139,100 metric tons. The United States Virgin Islands, Brazil and Russia ranked second, third and fourth respectively.
