Morocco is seeing an increase in meat consumption and production. According to a recent report, the country's meat consumption is expected to reach 1,270 thousand metric tons by 2026, growing at an average rate of 0.3% year on year since 2017. In 2021, Morocco ranked 34th, with Romania ahead at 1,250 thousand metric tons. The US, Brazil and Russia respectively sat at 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the ranking. In terms of meat production, Morocco is also on the rise. The country's production is projected to reach 1.69 million metric tons by 2026, at a rate of 2% year on year since 1966. In 2021, Morocco was 37th, with Nigeria overtaking at 1.50 million metric tons. The US Virgin Islands, Brazil and Russia respectively held the 2nd, 3rd and 4th spots in the ranking.
