Since 1966, the year-on-year increase in Afghan cotton production has been a modest 0.1%. In 2021, Afghanistan was ranked 38th in global cotton production, behind Bangladesh at $20.15 billion. China, the US and Pakistan were ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
