Uruguay is set to become one of the world’s top importers of silver. According to data from 2021, the country is currently in 64th position, with an estimated import of $175,000. By 2026, projections show Uruguayan silver imports will have grown by 3.4% year on year to an estimated $212,000. This is an increase of 10.3% since 1999. The United States, United Kingdom and Japan rank 2nd, 3rd and 4th in silver imports, respectively, with Pakistan in first position.
