This 7.6% annual rise since 1996 saw South Africa overtake Germany in 2021 as the leading country in terms of exports. The United States, Russia and China ranked second, third and fourth respectively. Germany is projected to import 3.82 million kilograms of cobalt by 2026, increasing at an average rate of 0.9% annually since 2021 when it was 3.63 million kilograms. This 3.4% annual rise since 1996 saw the United Kingdom overtake Germany in 2021 as the leading country in terms of imports. Belgium, the United States and Japan ranked second, third and fourth respectively.
