Bulgaria's crude oil demand is expected to reach around 342,000 metric tons in December 2021, down 5.5% from the 2,000 metric tons in November 2021. Meanwhile, Bulgaria's crude oil production is forecast to drop to 16,150 tonnes of oil equivalent in 2026 from 19,390 tonnes of oil equivalent in 2021, a 3.3% year-on-year decline. Since 1976, the country's supply has decreased by an average of 3.6% each year. In 2021, Bulgaria ranked 80th in the world, having been overtaken by Tajikistan at 19,390 tonnes of oil equivalent. Saudi Arabia, the United States and Iraq followed in second, third and fourth place respectively.
