Polish demand for crude oil rose by 4.2% in the first month of 2022, reaching 2.2 million metric tonnes. This figure is lower than the peak of 2.2 million metric tonnes in December 2021. Since 2007, demand has decreased by 1.1% year on year. Polish crude oil production is expected to grow to 1.2 million tonnes of oil equivalent by 2026, up 1.4% on average year on year. Since 1976, production has increased by 0.8% year on year. In 2021, Poland ranked 57th in the world, behind Ukraine at 1.1 million tonnes of oil equivalent. Saudi Arabia, the United States and Iraq were the top three producers in this ranking.
