Romanian crude oil demand is projected to reach 936,000 metric tons in December 2021, a decrease of 0.4% from the previous year. Since 2008, the demand has decreased by 1.8% annually. Romanian crude oil production is predicted to fall 3.6% year-on-year to 2.34 million tonnes of oil equivalent by 2026. Since 1976, the average yearly production has decreased by 4.4%. In 2021, Romania was ranked 44th, overtaken by Trinidad and Tobago with 2.86 million tonnes of oil equivalent. Saudi Arabia, the United States and Iraq were the top three countries on the list.
