Belarusian crude oil demand rose by 5% in April 2021, reaching 1.5 million metric tons. This is slightly higher than the 1.4 million metric tons recorded for March 2021. Since January 2017, demand has decreased by 1.7% year-on-year. Belarusian crude oil production is expected to reach 1.43 million tonnes of oil equivalent by 2026, a decline of 0.9% year-on-year on average. Since 1995, Belarusian output has fallen by 2.1% annually. The country ranked 49th in 2021, with Peru in first place at 1.49 million tonnes of oil equivalent. Saudi Arabia, The United States and Iraq followed respectively in the rankings.
