Cambodian sugarcane consumption is estimated to reach 19,000 metric tons in 2021, nearly 20% lower than the 24,000 metric tons consumed in 2020. Since 2017, the demand for sugarcane in Cambodia has fallen by 16% each year. The country ranked 26th in 2021, with Liberia coming in ahead at 19,000 metric tons. Brazil, Thailand and Egypt were ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th, respectively. Cambodian sugarcane production is projected to rise by 2% each year, reaching 786,840 metric tons by 2026. This is up from 699,950 metric tons in 2021. Since 1966, the country's sugarcane supply has grown by 1.7% annually. Cambodia ranked 56th in 2021, with the Democratic Republic of the Congo coming in ahead with 699,950 metric tons. India, Thailand and China were ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th, respectively.
