Taiwanese consumption of edible oils is expected to reach around 567,000 metric tons by 2026, up just 0.1% from 2021. This figure remained unchanged since 2017. In 2021, Taiwan ranked 31st globally, behind Tanzania which consumed 563,000 metric tons. China, the US and Brazil were the top three consumers, in that order. Meanwhile, Taiwanese production of edible oils is predicted to reach 573,900 metric tons by 2026, a 0.5% increase from 2021. Since 2017, production has grown 0.8% year-on-year. In 2021, Taiwan ranked 41st globally, behind the Czech Republic which produced 557,000 metric tons. China, Malaysia and the US were the top three producers, in that order.
