Namibian consumption of sunflower oil is forecast to remain stable for the next five years, with consumption estimated to reach 14 thousand metric tons by 2026. In 2021, Namibia was ranked 69th in the world for sunflower oil consumption, with the same 14 thousand metric tons as the year before. Ireland overtook Namibia with the same amount of consumption. Russia, Spain and Argentina were the top three in this ranking. Namibian production of sunflower oil decreased drastically in 2018, with 37 metric tons compared to 61 metric tons in 2017, a 39.3% decrease year-on-year. Since 1966, Namibian production has fallen by 16.1%. In 2018, the country was in 75th place, with Lithuania overtaking with 37 metric tons. Russia, Argentina and Hungary were the top three in the ranking.
