In 2021, the country placed 53rd in terms of its demand, Japan coming ahead with 19 thousand metric tons. Russia, Spain and Argentina followed in 2nd, 3rd and 4th place. Sunflower oil production in Serbia is projected to reach 277,590 metric tons by 2026, growing at an annual rate of 1.9%. Since 2011, the country's supply has grown 2.5% each year. Serbia ranked 13th in 2021, with Kazakhstan coming in first at 248,590 metric tons. Russia, Argentina and Hungary were the next three countries on the list.
