Dutch grape consumption is forecast to drop to 73,000 metric tons by 2026, down 3% from its 2021 level of 87,000 metric tons. Since 2017, demand for Dutch grapes has increased by an average of 2.8% year-on-year. In 2021, the Netherlands ranked 44th in the global rankings, overtaken by Slovenia's 87,000 metric tons. The United States, India, and Iran placed second, third, and fourth respectively. Meanwhile, Dutch grape production is expected to increase to 2,170 metric tons by 2026, growing at an average of 3.9% year-on-year since 1966. In 2021, the Netherlands was ranked 80th, overtaken by Paraguay's 1,720 metric tons. Italy, the United States, and Spain placed second, third, and fourth respectively.
