Brazil’s grapefruit consumption is expected to rise just slightly over the next five years. In 2021, the country consumed 70 thousand metric tons of the citrus fruit — the same amount as in 2017 — and is projected to reach 71 thousand metric tons by 2026. Japan led the global market in 2021, with 70 thousand metric tons of grapefruit, followed by Vietnam, the United States and Mexico in positions two, three and four, respectively.
