Grapefruit consumption in Iraq is set to rise over the next five years. In 2021, the country consumed 11 thousand metric tons of the fruit. This is expected to increase to 13 thousand metric tons by 2026, a rise of 2.8% annually on average. Since 2017, demand for grapefruit in Iraq has remained the same. In 2021, the country ranked 34th in the world for grapefruit consumption, with Malaysia coming in ahead with 11 thousand metric tons. Vietnam, the US and Mexico followed, in second, third and fourth place respectively.
