By 2026, Mexican pea consumption is predicted to reach 17 thousand metric tons, the same as in 2021. For the past four years, demand for peas in Mexico has stayed consistent. In 2021, the country ranked 30th in the world for its pea consumption, with France coming in at 29th with 17 thousand metric tons. China, Ethiopia and Bangladesh followed respectively. Mexican pea production is expected to drop to 1,500 metric tons by 2026, down 3.2% from 1,810 metric tons in 2021. This would mark a 5.8% decrease in supply since 1966.
