Mauritania's pea consumption is expected to fall to almost 6 thousand metric tons by 2026. This is a 3% decrease from 7 thousand metric tons in 2021. Since 2017, Mauritanian demand has dropped by 4.4% annually. In 2021, the country was ranked 51st, with Tanzania surpassing it at 7 thousand metric tons. China, Ethiopia and Bangladesh were 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively in this ranking. Mauritania's pea production is predicted to drop slightly to 8,140 metric tons by 2026. This is a 0.6% decline from 8,420 metric tons in 2021. Since 1995, Mauritania's supply has gone down by 2.5% each year.
