Hungary's pea consumption is expected to drop by 6.2% annually, reaching 8,000 metric tons by 2026. In 2021, the country was ranked 38th in terms of pea consumption, with the Czech Republic overtaking them at 12,000 metric tons. China, Ethiopia and Bangladesh were the top three countries in this ranking. Meanwhile, Hungarian pea production is expected to fall by 4.8% annually, amounting to 25,320 metric tons by 2026. This represents a significant decrease from the 33,800 metric tons of production in 2021, and is a 6.4% drop since 1966.
