Pakistan is expected to consume 253,000 metric tons of peas by 2026. This figure is a 0.6% increase from 2021, when the country consumed 244,000 metric tons. Since 2017, Pakistani demand has increased by 0.6% each year. In 2021, Pakistan was ranked sixth in the world in terms of pea consumption, overtaken by Russia with 244,000 metric tons. China, Ethiopia and Bangladesh ranked second, third and fourth respectively. Pakistan's pea production is forecast to decrease to 14,130 metric tons by 2026 from 22,570 metric tons in 2021, a drop of 7.8% year on year. Since 1966, Pakistani supply has decreased by an average of 5.4% each year.
