Guatemala is set to consume more peanuts in the coming years. By 2026, the country's peanut consumption is expected to reach 27,000 metric tons, rising 1.6% yearly on average. Since 2017, demand has remained stable. In 2021, Guatemala ranked 66th, overtaken by Saudi Arabia's 24,000 metric tons. India, Nigeria and the United States followed as the second, third and fourth biggest consumers, respectively. Guatemala's peanut production is also expected to increase. By 2026, the country is anticipated to produce 14,020 metric tons, growing at a rate of 2% yearly. Since 1966, production has increased by 4.6% annually. In 2021, Guatemala placed 63rd, overtaken by Japan's 12,470 metric tons. India, Nigeria and the United States followed as the second, third and fourth largest producers.
