Laos' animal fat consumption is projected to hit 12,000 metric tons by 2026, according to a new report. The country's demand for animal fat has risen 3% a year since 2017. In 2021, Laos ranked 93rd globally for animal fat consumption, behind Mali with 11,000 metric tons. The United States, Germany and France were the top three countries for animal fat consumption.
