Japanese exports of pasta are expected to hit $185 million by 2026, up 2.4% annually from the 2021 figure of $159 million. This follows a 5.4% yearly increase since 1993. In 2021, Japan was ranked 13th, coming in behind Mexico’s $159 million exports. China, South Korea and Thailand were the top three in that ranking. Meanwhile, imports of pasta into Japan are set to reach $349 million by 2026, increasing at a rate of 0.6% per year from the 2021 figure of $336 million. This follows a 1.4% yearly increase since 1993. In 2021, Japan was seventh, behind the Netherlands’ $336 million imports. Germany, France and the UK were the top three.
