In 2021, Mauritius had reached $26.4 billion, placing it in 81st spot in the world ranking; Kenya had overtaken it with $26.4 billion. The United States, France and Japan were second, third and fourth respectively. Mauritius’ electric generator imports, however, are set to rise. By 2026, imports are projected to reach $6.2 billion – a 4.3% year-on-year growth on average since 1998. In 2021, Mauritius was in 49th spot with $4.8 billion; Ecuador was ahead with $4.8 billion. Germany, Mexico and China were second, third and fourth respectively.
