Bhutan's oilseed production has seen a sharp decline in 2023, dropping to 71 metric tons from 109 metric tons in 2022. This marks a significant decrease of nearly 35% compared to the previous year. Since 1966, the country's oilseed supply has been decreasing at a rate of approximately 16% annually, highlighting a persistent downward trend. In the global rankings for oilseed production in 2023, Bhutan stood at 174th place. Armenia, with the same production volume of 71 metric tons, was just ahead of Bhutan. Leading the list, Brazil secured the top spot, followed by Malaysia and the United States, which ranked second, third, and fourth respectively.
