Barley production in Lesotho is projected to decline slightly over the next five years. In 2021, the country produced 456 metric tons of barley, ranking 97th worldwide. This is down 0.4% from the 1966 level. Bhutan led the ranking with 456 metric tons. France, Germany and Canada followed, producing 2, 3 and 4 million metric tons, respectively. By 2026, Lesotho’s barley production is expected to reach 449,620 metric tons, a decrease of 0.2% each year on average.
