Consumption of barley in India is set to rise over the next five years, according to a report. The report forecasts that demand will reach 1.6 million metric tons by 2026, up 1.5% annually from 2021. This represents a 2.6% increase since 2017. India was ranked third in 2021, behind Morocco and Algeria. Indian barley production is also set to rise, with supply estimated to increase to 1.7 million metric tons by 2026. This will be an average annual growth of 0.4%, with a 3.3% rise since 1966. India was ranked 19th in 2021, behind Algeria, France, Germany and Canada.
