Burkina Faso is set to see an increase in sorghum consumption over the next five years. In 2021, 955 thousand metric tons of sorghum were consumed, a 0.2% average year-on-year growth since 2017. Nigeria topped the list with 944 thousand metric tons, followed by India, China and Ethiopia. When it comes to production, Burkina Faso is expected to reach 2.03 million metric tons by 2026, a 1.1% average year-on-year growth since 1966. Nigeria again came in first with 1.9 million metric tons, followed by Ethiopia and Mexico.
