Brazilian pulse production is forecast to drop slightly over the next five years. In 2021, the country was the ninth-largest producer of pulses, with 2.9 million metric tons. This was slightly less than Ethiopia, which overtook Brazil to become the eighth-largest producer. Myanmar, Canada and China were the second, third and fourth largest producers respectively. On average, Brazil's pulse production has grown by 2% year on year since 1966. However, it is expected to fall by 0.3% annually over the next five years, reaching 2.8 million metric tons by 2026.
