Belarus is projected to see a decline in its pulses production, with output expected to drop to approximately 333,000 metric tons by 2028. This represents a year-on-year decrease of 0.4% from 2023, when the production stood at around 342,000 metric tons. Over the past decades, Belarusian pulses supply has experienced a slight increase, averaging a 0.3% rise annually since 1997. Despite this long-term upward trend, the recent projections indicate a reversal in fortunes for the sector. In the 2023 global rankings, Belarus was positioned 39th in pulses production. Vietnam surpassed Belarus with a production of roughly 342,000 metric tons. Topping the list, Myanmar, Canada, and China held the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively.
