Bosnia's alcoholic drink consumption is projected to decrease to approximately 55,000 metric tons by 2028, down from 57,000 metric tons in 2023. This represents an average annual decline of 0.5%. Since 2019, the country's demand for alcoholic beverages has seen a yearly reduction of 0.4%. In 2023, Bosnia ranked 34th in global alcoholic drink consumption, with Uzbekistan surpassing it at 57,000 metric tons. India, Japan, and Russia held the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively. On a more positive note, Bosnia's alcoholic drink exports are forecasted to grow. By 2028, the country's export value is expected to reach nearly $60 million, up from around $51 million in 2023. This equates to an average annual growth rate of 2.4%. Since 2008, Bosnia's supply of alcoholic beverages for export has increased by 1.6% annually.
