Senegalese tea consumption is set to rise over the next five years. In 2021, the country consumed 8 thousand metric tons – enough to rank it 48th in the world. Ethiopia was number one with 8 thousand metric tons, while India, Brazil and Argentina followed in second, third and fourth place respectively. On average, Senegalese demand for tea was up 4.6% year-on-year between 2017 and 2021. This trend is set to continue in the coming years, with consumption expected to reach 9.4 thousand metric tons by 2026.
